Yesterday was my Daddy’s birthday. I bought him a gift card to his favorite place to eat. He’s a beer drinker, so I thought a beer mug would be perfect.

The mug and the “cheers” is from the Smiley cards cartridge. I welded the mug shape into a card and then attached patterned paper inside to make a pocket for the gift card. I made the ‘beer’ inside by cutting the mug smaller than the original. I then cut the handle off and made it wavy at the top with scissors. I embossed the foam with the swirls in my Cuttlebug. The word I printed from my computer on white cardstock.

I would love to make one again but with acetate so it is clear like a real mug. I didn’t have any, so cardstock had to do.

My daughter’s first season of basketball has come to a close. I decided to make each player a basketball with their name and number on it. I was going to put a white circle on the back too so they could all sign each other’s balls at the end of season party. I thought it was a great idea! So I spend hours making them and excitedly show my eight year old, and well, she wasn’t too impressed, lol.  She said, “Can we at least give them a candy bar or something?”. Well, I don’t have time to make candybar wrappers now (that they will just throw away!). So…the little boogers are getting basketballs whether they like it or not:)!

Anyway, here’s the picture of a few of them:

I used the Basketball Solutions cartridge for the ball and a Varsity font with my Make the Cut software for the letters and numbers.

I’ve been under the weather a bit. Swinging from sunny to blizzard back to sunny has sent my sinuses haywire. Feeling a bit better now but for a couple days I didn’t wanna get out of bed. I even took a pillow and slept in the car during Cali’s basketball practice last night!

I made this little card from the Slumber Party Lite cartridge.

• My Minds Eye paper (not sure which line) 8″x4″ folded in half
• Bazzill Bling (pink heart and behind the numbers)
• Cut from Slumber Party Lite at 3 1/2″
• “Be Mine’ rubon from a Basic Grey card kit
• Ribbon and bling from stash

I went to get a tire checked out this morning and overheard the man telling how his wife didn’t clear her windows well enough and ended up doing a good amount of damage to their car by hitting a light pole. I kept thinking how horrible she must feel. So, I headed home and made this cute card. It’s the first time I’ve used the Smiley Cards download that we got on our Gypsys. I dropped it off this afternoon. Hopefully it brightened her day when he brought it home to her.

The background card is 4×6 (8×6 folded in half)

All the car pieces are cut at 3.35″ I used mini brads for the eyes.

The strip across the card is 1.5″x6″ and I wrapped black ribbon around it.

Hole Punches (I used a standard hole punch & an 1/8″ hole punch)
Design Studio (optional)

Using the chipboard-cut it using the deep cutting blade & set it to cute 2-3 times (it really depends on the thickness of the chipboard) to cut the houses, the tombstones, & the monsters using the shadow on the cartridge. You can pick whatever size you want-I did 5″ on them except for the monsters they are around 3″.

Switch blades & cut the shadow houses, tombstones & the monsters with the black paper. Glue the black paper to the chipboard.

Cut out houses, tombstones & monsters in whatever colors of paper you want. I did cut the ghost out on vellum using a slower setting & medium pressure so the paper wouldn’t rip.

Once the houses, tombstones & monsters are all assembled I like to put them in an arrangment of how I like them. Hole punch each side of each house & tombstone with the standard punch. I used the 1/8″ punch for the hire “spring” for a couple of the monsters. Wrap the wire around a pencil to give it that “springy” look then attach to the house or tombstone using the 1/8″ punch. Use the binder rings (or you can tie with ribbon) to make the banner. I thought about laminating the pieces as well so it can withstand the elements if you have a laminater available.

We are gearing up for the pumpkin patch, my favorite thing of the entire year! It made me remember this layout I designed a while back. One of my “one day” things is to make kits again. I love making kits and have really missed it since I quit teaching classes a few years ago.

My Pink Stamper has started having Wednesdays be “Imagine That Wednesday“. Yesterday she had a challenge to use an Imagine cart and bling up your project. So… I used the Imagine Best Friends cart and added some Stickles.
