My daughter’s first season of basketball has come to a close. I decided to make each player a basketball with their name and number on it. I was going to put a white circle on the back too so they could all sign each other’s balls at the end of season party. I thought it was a great idea! So I spend hours making them and excitedly show my eight year old, and well, she wasn’t too impressed, lol. She said, “Can we at least give them a candy bar or something?”. Well, I don’t have time to make candybar wrappers now (that they will just throw away!). So…the little boogers are getting basketballs whether they like it or not:)!
Anyway, here’s the picture of a few of them:

I used the Basketball Solutions cartridge for the ball and a Varsity font with my Make the Cut software for the letters and numbers.

I’m just passing the info along. I don’t personally know Aidan or Scrappy Zeni, but that doesn’t really matter, does it?!
(Click through to see Aidan’s picture in the hospital. What a trooper!)
My friend Tanya from Scrappin KY Momma needs help from all of us crafters. She knows this little boy and his family and would like to send him cards. Here’s his story…
Aidan is a sweet lil 2 year old who was recently diagnosed with T Cell Leukemia. On Wednesday, he had a port installed in his chest, spinal tap, bone marrow, and chemo in his spine. He did GREAT! This lil guy is such a trooper. His parents have accepted that their BABY has Leukemia.. NOT the easiest thing to accept, but their faith in God and their support system have kept them going. T-Cell Leukemia has a high cure rate although chemo will be continued for quite a while. Lil Aidan LOVES mail, like any 2 year old does. So….
Let’s get our crafting supplies out and send this lil guy some LOVE!!! Pass this on to all your crafty friends. I think we can all take a couple minutes and make something special for him that will bring LOTS of smiles and he can look at over and over. We all know how laughing and smiling can be good for the soul. Let’s give him this much for him to enjoy while he’s battling this horrible disease. I have no doubt in my mind that God can perform a miracle in this beautiful child. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
You can mail your cards to:

I recently put all of the Cricut cartridge handbooks that I own onto my Ipad and I LOVE IT! It is so easy to scroll through and see. I prefer looking at the handbooks over searching or browsing the Gypsy or Design Studio so I am SUPER excited!
Here are the step-by-step instructions many of you asked for:
I am using iBooks to view them in, but it should work for whatever you use to read with.
1. Go to http://www.cricut.com/information/cartridge_library.aspx to view all of the available handbooks. Select the one you want to put on the Ipad and click “View”. This will begin downloading the handbook to your computer.

2. Once it has downloaded, click the disk icon and ‘save as’ whatever you want the file name to be. Make sure it is saving as a PDF. Remember where you are saving it at so you can find the file again.

3. Open your ITunes. Click FILE, then “Add file to library”

4. Find the handbook on your computer and then click ‘open’.

The handbook should be found in the ‘books’ section.

5. Sync your Ipad with your Itunes on your computer and the handbooks should appear within IBooks on your Ipad.

Organizing with iBooks
After you have synced your Ipad, open iBooks and tap “Collections” in the upper left corner. By default there should be two collections, “Books” and “PDFs”. Tap “PDFs”. Your handbooks should be there.
To make a new collection, tap the “collections” button again. Under the collections it will say “new” and “edit” at the bottom. Select new. It will allow you to type in a new collection name such as “Cricut Handbooks”. Tap “done” and your new collection will be made.
To move your handbooks to your new “Cricut Handbooks” collection, select the “PDFs” collection again. In the top right corner tap the button that says “edit”. If you are viewing on the bookshelf, just tap to select the ones you want to move. If you are in list view, it will place a checkmark next to the ones you select.
After you have selected all of the handbooks, tap “move” in the top left hand corner. It will then bring up the list of collections. Tap “Cricut Handbooks” and watch them zoom into that collection. TaDa! You can now preview your handbooks in a super easy way!

Better late than never, right?!….
I’ve been under the weather a bit. Swinging from sunny to blizzard back to sunny has sent my sinuses haywire. Feeling a bit better now but for a couple days I didn’t wanna get out of bed. I even took a pillow and slept in the car during Cali’s basketball practice last night!

I made this little card from the Slumber Party Lite cartridge.
Supplies:
- My Minds Eye paper (not sure which line) 8″x4″ folded in half
- Bazzill Bling (pink heart and behind the numbers)
- Cut from Slumber Party Lite at 3 1/2″
- “Be Mine’ rubon from a Basic Grey card kit
- Ribbon and bling from stash

I have had a top-secret project in the works with some of the Cricut world’s favorite designers…but I wanted to invite you as well. Without giving away all the details (yet), I am doing a Cricut Project call…

If you are interested in sharing/publishing some of your creations in a new and big way, I’d love to hear from you.
Email me at brandigore (AT) hotmail (DOT) com with the subject CRICUT PROJECT. (I’m using my personal email for this because it is easier, but you can always reach me at “info (AT) LearningTheCricut (DOT) com” as well) If you have a blog where I can see your work, please include that info. If not, please send me some pictures of your work.
I know many of you would love more followers for your blogs, or have a product that you would like to get more exposure for. This is a great way to get your work and your site/blog out there.
Please let me know if you are interested by the end of February and we will go from there.
