Let’s Bless a Little Girl Together
Joy from Obsessed with Scrapbooking posted an email she received asking for cards to be sent to a little girl fighting Leukemia.
Hello Joy,
Hope you are doing well. This email is to ask all of you for some help. Hopefully you can post this info on your blog or attach a link to my blog (techniquesbytrish.blogspot.com). I absolutely love your blogs “Obsessed with Scrapbooking” and “Everyday Cricut” and was hoping that you could help spread the word on this card drive i’m holding.
After working for my parents business for 10 years, you get to know your customers pretty well and over time they become more like friends. One of the customers had told me last year that he was thrilled that his niece, Madison, was in remission from Leukemia! Their family was over joyed that such a young girl had beat this vicious cancer (she’s only 6 years old). However, just last week, their family was just hit with the most horrific news……..Madison’s cancer has returned.
Now I personally do not know Madison BUT I’m the type of person who wants to help whenever I can. I know that I cant cure her but I can help with making her day a little better by sending her a card to put a smile on her face.
So, this is where i’m hoping to get your help…..i’m hoping to get a TON of cards to cheer up Madison. “Get well” cards and anything that is super girly would be perfect!!! And if you’d like to send a small gift, ex: a barbie or stuffed animal, im sure it would cheer her up and keep her company while she spends the next several weeks in the hospital. I know she loves pink, butterflies, and anything girly.
If your interested in helping please send your cards/packages to the following address by Friday, October 29th(please have it in the mail on or before that date):
Trisha Theo
Po Box 7806
North Port, Florida 34290
Thank you everyone in advance for spreading the word and helping this young girl get through such a hard time,
TrishPs….if you’d like to send a card to Madison’s parents with words of encoragement or your prayers, their names are Bobby and Maria.
If you’d like to share what you’ve made, Joy has a place under her post to link yours. Of course we also would love to see them on the Learning The Cricut Facebook page too.
Remember-this is about blessing this family. If you don’t have time to make a card, which if you are like me, you may not- pick up a card when you’re grocery shopping. It doesn’t matter if it’s ‘homemade’ or a Cricut masterpiece. Let’s overwhelm this family with love and support!
Sweetheart Cards
One of my favorite new cartridges that I still haven’t been able to get yet… Sweethearts!
On it there is a card feature that I think makes them just adorable. My favorite is the frog…but tons of them are great. All of the images are available to cut regularly as well. Here’s a look…

CARD DEADLINES: Father’s Day: May 8
The discussion thread as well as our personal blog posts began generating more and more interest, and thousands of cards were being mailed out regularly by our shippers.
Growing
In November of 2007, this project became more official with a website, in an effort to consolidate the information and provide an easy way for people to get involved. More and more card makers were finding out about the project, and appreciated the regular updates and reporting done through the website. A print shop donated the printing of our brochure, and those began to get mailed out. Blog challenges, promotional help by bloggers and company websites kept the enthusiasm spreading.
Reputation in the military
As more and more thousands of cards made it to the battlefields, CFH was added to a Chaplain training program for those transitioning into war zones. “They told me to contact you for cards,” said one Chaplain. “I heard they’re great for morale!” Requests for cards continue to come in, and it’s an honor to meet those requests with such incredible cards.
Love Card from Wild Cards Cartridge
This card was made using the Wild Cards cartridge. I’m beginning to explore it more thoroughly, so I hope to have more to share soon.

New (December) Update Now Available
Just when you got caught up on the last one…here’s the latest update. Some of the cartridges this adds are the Hello Kitty, Pooh, Blackletter, Sesame Street and more. The exciting change is that with this version you can hide piece of an image if you don’t want it to cut! Just follow the link and select the green download button after the first paragraph. (Click HERE for update)
Visit the Just A Scrappin Blog for instructions and great reminders if you are downloading it before I get the video out. Click here for the blog.
I am working on the video for how to uninstall your old program, install the update, and update your firmware. Hopefully I can finish it by the end of the weekend. Then I’ll start one to show the changes. They surprisingly take quite a long time to edit, but I’ll get them up asap.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments. I sure do appreciate them.
